spring break pt.2: zürich! (day 4)

i started my last day off by going to church with my uncle, where he was running the audioboard and stuff.
it was pretty cool, except that it was all in german. surprisingly, though, i was able to understand at least part of what the pastor was talking about! it was nice. :)

cute.

our church needs to be like this

lunch at their house afterwards was delicious, as always. they're such great people, and so nice. they were overly hospitable, and i am forever grateful for their generosity. they made my trip pretty unforgettable.

my uncle drove me to the train station a while after lunch, and then i took the train into the city, where i transferred to my train back to Paris.
my ticket this time was first class, which was really nice! i had my own seat, and i had a functioning power cable! so, i was able to use my laptop while traveling. i felt very business-like. except that i wasn't working on anything worthwhile, haha...just photos.
i also got dinner on the train as well, which was pretty delicious. in conclusion, it was a great trip. but i'm happy to be back in the city that i love.

woohoo!

some free...juice?

spring break pt.2: zürich! (day 3)

i started off the day with a "light" (according to my mountain-biking uncle) bike ride in the mountains...about half an hour away from their house. it was really wonderful, except for the fact that i felt like i was going to have a heart attack by the time we reached the summit, which was a really cool lake.
once we were there, we biked around it, and stopped in at a restaurant for a hot drink.
coming back down wasn't as difficult, thankfully. i'm also glad that it was cold and slightly rainy...it would've been terrible if it had been hot outside.

then, my uncle took me up another mountain with the car, which was very frightening...but worth it! there are some beautiful views from the cliffs up there!

later in the evening, i went to Alpamare...which is the largest indoor waterpark in all of europe, apparently? i didn't think it was that huge...but it WAS fun. there are some pretty great slides in there. all in all, a very exciting day!

the wavepool

this was actually not bad.

hehe, cute

so cute!

spring break pt.2: zürich! (day 2)

toady, i spent a large part of the day just exploring downtown Zürich on my own.
i didn't really know anything about the city, so i just walked around and kinda' got lost a little bit.
i took photos of random things...and eventually found my way back to the center of downtown, where i saw a few churches and got some pretty cool views of the region.

beni woke me up this morning

once i was done looking around, i took a ferry down the sea, part of the way back to my aunt & uncle's house. then, i caught a train from there. it was really cool, except that it was cold and windy, and felt like it was going to rain. good thing it didn't!

i took a train i wasn't allowed to take! oops, haha.

that evening, after dinner...we just hung out. the kids showed me how they like to dance to this german music, and i read them a story. it was thoroughly embarrassing, and i'm sure my uncle has a video. i hope nobody ever sees that, haha.
