rugby is awesome

so, today i went with a bunch of other CEA people to see a Stade Francais Paris rugby match against ASM Clermont. it was at the Stade France. (the French national stadium, built for the 1998 World Cup Final) this place is enormous! it was such an amazing place to be...i couldn't get over how huge it is.

just the trips to and from the stadium were interesting too...big crowds, lots of noise. i enjoyed it and i hated it at the same time. haha. but yeah, the game was fun too. rugby is such an interesting sport! i wish i could play it, though i'd probably just get ripped in half on the first day trying. so, i will stick to the job of spectator.

but yeah, Paris won the match! 19-10. we all enjoyed that, since we're all pretty biased...i mean, we live here! i also bought a replica jersey, which i really love. it's a little bit tight, but that's how all the pro's wear them...so i guess it'll be fine. otherwise...yeah, it was a good time. i had fun hanging out with people. oh, the pyrotechnic show after the game was pretty intense too! such a great way to end a game after a victory.

fire!

later on, i went with tom to meet up with his cousin, skyler, who is studying in switzerland. he's here to visit for a few days. we met up by the Seine, and then went and got some extra pita grecques for dinner...which is ALWAYS delicious. i can never complain about that. then, we walked along the river (in the rain, for a while) to gwen/caroline/lexie's apartment. once there...we had cheese and bread, and lots to drink! it was caroline's birthday, and yet she hosted us! very well, i might add. it was a great evening.
