i went to lunch with candace, a girl that lives in my building. we met up with a friend of her's, maddy. we went to this place called Breakfast in America. and there was a line outside! the wait was over an hour long, and we waited. it was SO worth it! the food was delicious...i had hamsteak, eggs, and homefries. oh oh! and coffee! not espresso like they serve here! drip-brew coffee! man...it was so nice, after not having anything like that for almost a month. (since i vowed to stay away from all Starbuck's locations while i'm here...since we have it back home)
don't be fooled by the photo. there was a pretty good line outside.
coffee...yes, the mug was chipped & weird. it gives it character.
LOL, candace's ultra-exaggerated fake smile is great
a little piece of heaven
why do i look so awkward holding that mug? lol
this was on the wall behind maddy's head (haha)
then, we went to Hillsong Paris Church. maddy and candace wanted to check it out, so we did.
i don't know if they really liked it all that much, and i'm unsure if they'll come again. but that's alright...no big deal! i definitely want to get more involved, though. i gave an information card in, and i met some really great people...like caroline, from london, who organizes events and stuff. and one other guy (i forgot his name) who organizes sportslife. they play group sports every saturday at 2:00. and i've REALLY wanted to play some soccer lately, so this will be awesome. and i want to look into a connect-group (aka small-group) and things of that nature.
i know there are romanian baptist churches here...but, no offense to anyone: i came to Paris to kinda' get away from that type of thing for a little while. it's all i've known, and i just want to see something different for at least a little while. but, we'll see if i ever make it out to hang out with romanians here.
but yeah, the pastor spoke about seed-time and harvest-time. it was about planting a seed continuously, no matter how grim your circumstances may be. and God will give you a great harvest in the future, if you have faith in Him to take the first step. it was really great stuff!
afterwards, i returned home...and sorta' just hung out for a few hours in the common room, doing homework, listening to music, watching some of the romanian baptist church back home (online) to hear my buddy ovi sing, and chatting with people. i was going to go out with tom, but that ended up not happening. i guess i could be sad, but it's not that big of a deal. we'll see eachother tomorrow, i'm sure.
